"Spring Has Sprung Fused Glass"

Bobbi Hirschkoff is a California native and has been an Encinitas, California resident for forty years. Her interest in art and gardening started as a child digging rivers and waterfalls throughout her mother's fruit orchard. Being a child of the 50's and Sputnik era meant being guided towards math and science. Ms Hirschkoff was a middle school science teacher for 32 years.  During her teaching career her active pursuit of her art was limited to spring and summer breaks.  During these times, she created hundreds of stained glass windows and other works of art.   Retiring from teaching in 2001 gave her the time to pursue her art interest full time.

She has done painting in both oil and acrylic.  Three years ago, she began jewelry design and silversmithing.  Most recently her interest have turned to fused art glass. She is doing freestanding glass art and also incorporating fused glass into her jewelry designs. She has shown her work at Jazzercise Corporate Headquarters in Carlsbad, California, Encinitas City Hall, Encinitas Library and has won awards at the annual San Diego Fine Art Show at the San Diego Fair.  She is presently a member of the COAL Gallery and the San Dieguito Art Guild and a docent at San Diego Botanical Garden.
