Dot Renshaw's paintings reflect her love of the outdoors. Pastels, oils and watercolors are the three mediums in which she paints. She rises before dawn and usually paints in the early morning or late afternoon when the light is dramatic. She likes to work on location to adsorb the mood and many colors. Bold color and value range coupled with energetic strokes are characteristic of her work in both landscape and the human figure. She has painted all her life and has also taught high school art for almost 30 years. A resident of Pacific Beach for over 30 years, she is connected to the coastline and the many hidden canyons around San Diego County.
